Instructions and tips for caring for Phicen dolls and heads
To ensure a comfortable life with your Phicen doll, here are a few tips.
Very important:
*Straighten the limbs and posture at the end of the day. Bent positions strain the material and cause the “skin” of joints such as knees, shoulders or elbows to crack. Please do not leave the doll in a posing position or sitting, but lay her down to rest.
*Soft “skin” is easily marked if it is hit by sharp corners or objects.
*When changing arms or legs, firmly grasp the limb and pull the part straight out. Do not twist or wring, as this may pull the ball joint out of place. If the part does not seem to come off smoothly and neatly, warm it up a bit by either immersing it in warm (not boiling) water or using a hair dryer. Warm plastic is softer and will come off and fit back into place more easily.
Maintenance and service:
We recommend the following materials and tools:
*Powder puff
*Soft toothbrush (for hair)
*(baby) talcum powder or cornstarch
*Baby oil (for stains)
*Shaving foam, e.g. Gillette (for stains)
*pH neutral soap
*If the surface collects dust and lint, dust it with talcum powder with a powder puff.
*You used the guy for swimming – remember to wash and talcum powder afterwards.

Clothes and dressing:
*You can get your clothes on easier if you remove your head, arms and feet first. Even the narrowest legs and sleeves will then be easier to put on.
*If the surface feels sticky and changing clothes is difficult, dust a light layer of talcum powder or cornstarch with a powder puff.
*Always be careful with dark clothes and accessories. They may leave dark marks or stains on the “skin”. A good tip is to put plastic wrap under dark clothes. It also makes it easier to put on. On women's bodies, tights and socks may also protect against possible stains, depending on the thickness of the material. Depending on what you do with your figure, you may never encounter this problem.
Head and hair:
*The hair fiber is different from most other types of dolls. We recommend a soft toothbrush to handle and brush the hair. It does not tear the fibers apart or make them rough and staticky.
*You can also use hair wax for hair (any kind will do) – especially good for shorter hair and to keep flyaways in check
*You can also keep longer hair and curls looking great with aloe vera gel. It is used, for example, with hair extensions to keep curls firm and defined. The fiber is similar, only the size is the decisive difference.
*Some people have a very sparse head of hair and a bald patch shows up when they open their hair or lift it up. Many people have grown their own thicker and more impressive hair with hair fibers.
Most heads may not have a protective layer of varnish, so you can treat it with Mr. Super Clear varnish spray if you want. Remember to protect the eyes with pieces of masking tape, for example, to keep the varnish and brightness of the eyes intact.
Transport:
Protect the head and preferably the entire doll during transport. Do not throw it on the bottom of the bag. The soft “skin” is easily marked if it is hit by sharp corners or objects. The paint on the head is sensitive to impact – especially the nose, earlobes and chin can quickly start to look worn if you do not protect the head during transport.
Stains and discolorations:
Because the material is porous, it also absorbs color. If you get any discoloration on your "skin", don't panic. It will almost always come off. Except for the pencil.
The body can be washed with lukewarm water and a pH neutral soap. Pat dry with a towel – a lint-free cotton towel (dish towel type) is excellent for this.
A light stain may come off in just a few days if you leave the doll to its yellow state for a couple of days. It can also be made more effective with men's shaving foam. The manufacturer recommends Gillette shaving foam, for example. Apply a thick layer of shaving foam to the stain and let it sit for a couple of days. Wipe off the dried foam carefully and finish with talcum powder.
